Every day, teaching artists bring more than lessons to classrooms and community spaces. During Teacher Appreciation Week, it is essential to recognize these educators who do much more than teach skills. They help students build confidence, discover their voices, express themselves creatively, and find joy through arts and wellness practices.

The Power of Creative Writing with Trenton Krzyzowski


Trenton Krzyzowski teaches creative writing with the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, Colorado. His classes go beyond grammar and structure. Trenton inspires students to explore poetry, music, and storytelling as tools for artistic expression. His approach encourages young writers to find their unique voices and share their stories confidently.


By integrating music and poetry, Trenton creates a dynamic environment where students feel safe to experiment and express themselves. His work shows how creative writing can build self-esteem and foster a lifelong love of language.


Bringing Mindfulness and Movement to Seniors with Sky S Headland


Sky S Headland teaches gentle yoga at RiverPointe Assisted Living Community. Her classes focus on peace, mindfulness, and healing movement tailored to seniors. Sky’s approach helps participants improve flexibility, reduce stress, and connect with their bodies in a supportive setting.


Her work demonstrates the importance of wellness practices in community care. By offering yoga to seniors, Sky helps improve quality of life and encourages a sense of calm and balance.


Inspiring Young Artists with Dianne Johnson’s Summer Art Camps


Dianne Johnson leads multidisciplinary art camps at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal in Atlanta, Georgia. Her camps offer children a chance to explore painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Dianne’s teaching style encourages experimentation and creative problem-solving.
