Cassie Gilchrist- At a young age I discovered I had talent in both visual arts and working with children. I have been babysitting since the age of 11 and have worked in childcare centers since I was 16. I eventually got my degree in art education and although I did not make it to teach in the school system due to some health issues and starting my own family I have taught painting classes and art camps part time. My passion is nurturing students' inner voices. I feel strongly that we can create a better world if we empower students to connect with and express themselves starting from a young age. Art has the power to show students that their choices matter and they can create beauty even in rough circumstances.
